The Dead Will Be Walking Again

October 30, 2015

If you're a fan of The Walking Dead, then you should have been at the San Diego Comic-Con. Executive producer Scott Gimble held a panel discussion with cast and crew members Gale Anne Hurd, Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Lennie James (Morgan) and Melissa McBride (Carol) and numerous others. They spilled their guts regarding the Season 6 premiere and the upcoming season. The show's creator, Robert Kirkman, was planning to attend the panel, but he became sick, so to honor him, many of the crew wore shirts with his face on them.  The season debut is coming with a mega-bang. That episode alone will feature 654 zombies on-screen, which is more than have ever been on one episode of the hit show before. There will be a special premiere and after party a few days before the sho... Continue Reading...

Crimson Peak Will Creep You Out!

October 30, 2015

Don't confuse Guillermo del Toro with Benicio del Toro. Guillermo is from Mexico. Benicio is from Puerto Rico. Benicio is handsome. Guillermo is. . . uh. . . let's just say he's not handsome. Guillermo is a world-famous director. Benicio is known for his terrific acting. The only thing similar about them is the quality of their work and their del Toro surname.  Guillermo has a new film called Crimson Peak coming out this fall. It's a tense horror/thriller that should do good bank in the Halloween season. The story is pretty straightforward. A wanna-be writer (aren't all writers wanna-be's?) who is coping with a recent family tragedy is torn between the temptation of a mysterious outsider and her love for her childhood friend. In an attempt to get away from the ghosts of her past, she ... Continue Reading...

Season six of the acclaimed show will start with a bang and a fantabulous Hollywood premiere. Fans and critics agree that season five was the best yet, but producers guarantee that the upcoming series will be even better.  There's no question that the "Walking Dead" has something that other shows don't. Every time you think you know what's going on, the plot shifts thanks to clever plot twists and unstable characters that are fighting to stay on the edge of existence.  Who can wait for the premiere? We can't. Will the Alexandrians and Grimes group band together or tear each other apart? And who is controlling the zombie minions that ar... Continue Reading...

All the world loves zombies--unless you're running from them. And it seems that all the world loves zombie movies and television shows, as evidenced by the phenomenal success of The Walking Dead. The show just ended its fifth season in remarkable form, and all the fans will be dying for more, more, more until October, when the whip comes down for season 6.  It's a wonder that Rick Grimes and his crew are still around to tell the tale, but that just shows how great the show is. The zombies can't catch them, and the ratings are still through the roof. Don't Try to Deflate the ESPYs

October 30, 2015

Regardless of the outcome of the recent NFL turmoil surrounding the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, the ESPY Awards will not be deflated this year. Quite the opposite. The ESPYs are one of the most unique award shows of any year, but not simply because they celebrate sports. It's because of the way they celebrate.  Although this is a sports-centric awards show, there are lots of non-athletes in attendance. Movie stars, musicians, fashion models and comedians will all be converging on the Nokia Theatre in beautiful, sunny Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 15, to celebrate all things sport. Nobody's going to let the air out of this show, that's for sure. If anything, the Deflate-Gate fiasco should give the presenters plenty to joke about during the proceedings.  In case you didn't... Don't Get Pitch Slapped

October 30, 2015

OK, so what do you get when you have a funny script, a sequel to a big hit movie, college girls making fart noises, an obnoxious German singing group, a pack of college girls and a wardrobe malfunction to top all wardrobe malfunctions? That's easy. You have this spring's highly anticipated musical comedy Pitch Perfect 2, the follow-up to the 2012 hit Pitch Perfect with director and co-star Elizabeth Banks once again bringing the funny. Of course, when you have a comic actor like Rebel Wilson back for seconds as Fat Amy, you know there will be an overload of hijinks, sarcasm and plenty of girls being girls all the way through the film.  Here's an image from the film for you that will burn itself onto your retinas. Fat Amy is strapped in a harness while suspended 20 feet above the stage... Continue Reading...

The Age of Jurassic World Comes Ever Nearer

October 30, 2015

Just about everybody can remember the impact that Jurassic Park had when it burst into theaters over 20 years ago. The special effects were incredible, the actors were all A-list and the story came from Michael Creighton. What's not to like? It was a mesmerizing look at the what if's and might be's that the brave new world of advanced DNA science and replication was ushering in.  Naturally, the original was better and grossed higher than the two subsequent sequels. That's usually how it goes, unless the movie in question is the Godfather. However, the relaunching of the Jurassic Park franchise comes in an era when CGI special FX are better than ever and there's a brand new crowd of youngsters and tweens who are going to be as excited as a flea at a dog show when Jurassic World debuts ... Spike TV’s Guy’s Choice Awards is All About the Mantlers

October 30, 2015

Spike's annual celebration of testosterone and all things manly will be broadcast on June 7, 2015, in beautiful, macho Los Angeles. It seems appropriate enough, given that this is where Jim Morrison woke up one morning and got himself a beer, which is practically the definition of macho, manly, testosteroney things to do. After that, I imagine he built himself a woman, but if he was alive right now, he'd be raking in the accolades at the Guy's Choice for his lifetime of dedication to being a total dude.  The awards show will be held at the Sony Picture Studios, where all kinds of dreams become reality, and your can too. If you'd like to be at the Guy's Choice show as they hand out the mantlers, or if you'd like to attend the swinging after party, VIP Concierge has a limited number of ... Continue Reading...

The Fast and Furious Crew Is Out for Revenge

October 30, 2015

We all know vengeance is a dish that is best when it's served cold--as in with no emotion or feeling attached to it. The Fast and Furious posse knows all about serving up vengeance, and they do it in spades. With the seventh installment of the franchise heading our way at the beginning of April, it's time to dust off your feelers and get ready for some big time, action-packed mayhem as only Vin Diesel and his wrecking crew can bring to the silver screen, or any other screen, for that matter.  Taking a look at the new Furious 7 one sheet poster will surely remind you, in case you forgot, that this gang is hell on wheels. Longtime cast members Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Ludicris and Jordana Brewster definitely look ominous, and they've eve... Continue Reading...

The Resurgence of Divergent

October 30, 2015

Dystopian films based on wildly popular young adult books seem to follow a pattern. In March, the resurgent movie franchise Divergent will lumber into theaters with the second installment named Insurgent. Can't you already hear the delighted squeals of fans everywhere, like when the residents of Whoville all shouted at once so Horton could hear them? Like The Hunger Games before it, the films are coming out yearly and the last book will be split into two glorious films that are just right for raking in piles of cold, hard cash--and I don't mean Johnny Cash, although he is also cold and hard, rest his rockin' soul. If you've seen the trailer for Insurgent, you know that many, many reality-bending action-packed scenes with heroine Tris are being packed into this film like herrings in a tin c...
